New fee rates

The Austrian Patent Office has informed us that, pursuant to its President's ordinance valorising the fixed rates under the Federal Law on Patent Office Fees, some patent fees have been changed[ 1 ].

Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Austria are advised that from 1 July 2014 the following rates apply:

OJ EPO 2014, A69 - List of days in 2014 on which EPO filing offices and national patent authorities of the EPC contracting states are closed – corrigendum

The German Patent and Trademark Office has informed us that this year, in addition to the list of holidays published in OJ EPO 2014, A9, it will also be closed on the following days:

Monday, 29 December 2014 and

Tuesday, 30 December 2014.

By decision dated 26 February 2009 (OJ EPO 2009, 182), the President of the European Patent Office authorised the filing in electronic form of documents relating to the international application under Rule 89bis.2 PCT.

OJ EPO 2014, A72 - Warning - beware of approaches and requests for payment from firms purporting to publish and/or register European or international patent applications and European patents

1. Numerous European patent applicants and proprietors have informed the European Patent Office (EPO) that firms and individuals have sent them invoices inviting them to pay for the publication and/or registration of their applications and patents. Similar reports have been received from applicants who filed international applications under the Patent Cooperation Treaty (PCT applications).
