1. Background

This publication reports on the boards' work in 2012 and 2013, and gives various statistics. In particular, it reviews the decisions handed down by the boards last year on both substantive patent law and procedural issues.

The fees guidance currently applicable is set out in OJ EPO 2014, A37 ff.

The current schedule of fees and expenses of the EPO is set out in Supplementary publication 3, OJ EPO 2014.

Information about the closure of additional 13 euro bank accounts of the European Patent Organisation

Taking into account the developments in the Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) enabling patent applicants to make direct payments to the EPO´s house bank in Germany (Commerzbank AG) under the same conditions as those applicable to payments made to domestic accounts, the EPO is closing the following bank accounts by 31 August 2014:
