The European Patent Office (EPO) is aware that European patent applicants and proprietors sometimes receive invoices from firms and individuals inviting them to pay for the publication and/or registration of their applications and patents.

1. As of 14 December 2020 the EPO will add new features to the online service for paying fees by credit card. Moreover, a new functionality will be added to the payment service aimed at facilitating payments by bank transfer.
