Payment of patent fees

The Finnish Patent and Registration Office has informed us that some details of the bank accounts for renewal fees and other fees relating to European patents in Finland have changed.

Having regard to the revised version of the Rules of Procedure of the Boards of Appeal which was approved by decision of the Administrative Council dated 26 June 2019 and came into force on 1 January 2020,

On 1 April 2021 the EPO's new web-based filing service Online Filing 2.0 will be launched.^[ 1 ] It is accessible via the EPO's website with a smart card registered for the service.

The validity of the following information is subject to the further evolution of the Covid-19 crisis and the possiblility of organising the on-site training mentioned below as currently planned. Updated information will be published on the CEIPI website in due time.

1. The basic course provides a systematic and comprehensive introduction to the law and practice of the European patent system. Over the years, the CEIPI (Centre for International Intellectual Property Studies) and the epi (Institute of Professional Representatives before the European Patent Office) have together devised a basic training programme in European patent law designed primarily for prospective professional representatives before the EPO.
