Does the address for correspondence need to be in an EPC contracting state?
If no agent has been appointed, any correspondence is sent to the applicant. In that case, applicants may indicate an address for correspondence, which may be located anywhere in the world. This revised EPO practice for the use of an address for correspondence entered into force on 1 November 2014.
