What is the International Preliminary Report on Patentability Chapter I?
If no demand for international preliminary examination is filed, the IB will convert the WO-ISA into the International Preliminary Report on Patentability (IPRP Chapter I). Further, the IPRP Chapter I will be communicated to all designated Offices after expiry of 30 months from the priority date. A copy is promptly sent to the applicant. Any informal comments received will be annexed to the IPRP Chapter I.

The IPRP Chapter I, together with any informal comments, will be made available for public inspection at the IB, but not before the international publication of the international application and subject to Article 38 PCT and Rule 94.1(d) to (g) PCT.
