If the applicant files missing parts of the description, or drawings, in accordance with the procedures explained in A‑II, 5.1 or A-II, 5.2, then the date of filing changes to the date on which the missing parts are received at the EPO. The applicant is informed of the new date of filing. This is subject to the exception explained in A‑II, 5.4.[Rule 56(2); ]
A "drawing" means a single numbered figure. Only whole figures will be accepted according to Rule 56, even where only a part of the original figure was missing.
