New fee rates

The Romanian State Office for Inventions and Trademarks has informed us that the amounts in Romanian currency of the following patent fees have been changed. [ 1 ]

The amounts in euros are unchanged.

Applicants for and proprietors of European patents with effect in Romania are advised that from 1 January 2019 the rates below will apply.

1. Publication of translations of the claims pursuant to Article 67(3) EPC: EUR 60 or RON 280

Correction of translation: EUR 30 or RON 140

2. Publication of translations of the patent specification under Article 65 EPC: EUR 100 or RON 466 plus EUR 5 or RON 23 for each page of the translation in excess of 20

In the case of publication within the additional period: EUR 200 or RON 932 plus EUR 5 or RON 23 for each page of the translation in excess of 20

Correction of translation: EUR 20 or RON 93

EUR 100 or RON 466, unless the transfer of rights took place before publication of the mention of grant by the EPO

Payment of patent fees

The IBAN for the bank account for payments in RON of renewal fees and other fees relating to European patents in Romania is now as follows:

IBAN: RO29 TREZ 7032 0F33 5000 XXXX

All the other bank details, in particular of the account for payments in EUR, are unchanged.

Users of this brochure (18th edition) should amend Tables III.B, sections 2 and 6, IV, sections 5 and 8, VI.A, section 1, VIII, section 2, and IX, section 4, accordingly.
