After an international application has been filed other documents may be filed in any proceedings before the EPO direct, by post or - with the exception of authorisations and priority documents - by fax at the EPO filing offices. online or direct, by post or by fax at the EPO filing offices. However, the filing of priority documents by fax or via the EPO case management system and the EPO web-form filing service is excluded, as is the filing of authorisations by fax and via the EPO web-form filing service. Priority documents filed subsequently via EPO Online Filing must be digitally signed by the issuing authority.
No confirmation copy of a further document must be filed, but the receiving Office may require a confirmation copy to be submitted (see point 71), which it will do in particular if the applicant has submitted substitute sheets under Rule 26 PCT and/or any sheets to be incorporated by reference under Rule 20.6 PCT. In these two cases the applicant is advised to submit a confirmation copy on his own initiative directly after sending the sheets concerned by fax.
