GL E IV 1.6.6 Examination as to res gestae

The examination as to personal particulars will be followed by the examination as to res gestae. Any person testifying is to be instructed to give a full and logical account of what they know concerning the subject-matter of the hearing. Further questions may have to be put to clarify and supplement statements and to establish on what the knowledge of the person testifying is based. Such questions may be put by the member commissioned for the taking of evidence, where applicable, the chair or any other member of the department concerned. As regards the entitlement of other members of the division to put questions, see E‑III, 8.10. When formulating questions the same considerations apply as for the parties (see E‑IV, 1.6.7).
